Proinnsias

Proinnsias

So now we're in April

So, now we're in April, the month of the showers

And gardens are bursting with beautiful flowers.

Now, trees are in leafing, a bright, tender green;

They outdo in splendor the deep evergreen.

Perennials now pop their top out of the ground,
Asking, "Is winter yet gone, or is frost still around?/"

And, finding it's April, they grow quickly in glee,
And spread wide their branches for their summer spree.

Daffodils and narcissi are merry and gay,

While hedge-rows prepare for the blossoms of May.
